Written on the back of the photograph is "Theodore Jeremiah Squires, a native of Elyria, Lorain County, Ohio. One of the Wisconsin Gold Mining Company men who arrived at Boulder area in Spring of 1859. It is a family history that he sent a locket to his sister in Ohio, Marcella Prudence Squires, for her 18th birthday. She was born in 1840. She gave it to a daughter of Theo in 1925 shortly before her death. This photo was reproduced from a picture in that locket, size below, and badly stained."
